On June 27th, 2009, the Second Dalian College Track-and-Field Sports Meeting was unveiled in Dalian University of Technology. A total of 15 colleges and universities participated in the competition. Our athletes led by Mr. Wang Hai and Zou Lichang, who came from the Department of Fundamental Courses, achieved good results again. We won five gold, nine silver and 10 bronze medals, the Third Prize in the second male group, and the Fourth Prize in the second female group. In the competition, Shi Jing from Class 07503, Department Of Digital Arts got two gold medals for 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles herself. Ma Zheng from Class 07509 of Software Development major got the high jump gold medal. Zhang Guangzhi from Class 06504 of Computer Technology major got the gold medal for the long jump. In the female javelin competition, the student named Xu Weiqi from 07502 of Human Resources major got the gold medal and Chen Ying from Class 08503 of Integrated Circuit major got the silver medal. Excellent results couldn’t have come without the joint efforts made by both the teachers and the students. They continued training regardless of the severe heat and strived tenaciously to succeed in the competition, showing the young IT students’ special aura and charm. We have taken part in two Dalian College Track and Field Sports Meetings continuously, supplying valuable opportunities for the sports-loving students to participate in higher level competitions, promoting the exchanges and learning opportunities of physical culture among various colleges.  (Wang Hai, Department of Fundamental Courses)
