Our contestant, teacher Wang Hong from Department of Computer Science and Technology, laid hold of the second prize in the First Class Teaching Competition of Young Teachers of Dalian. The awarding ceremony & summary and exchange seminar was convened at Wuyi International Hotel on Dec.3. Zhang Tao, Chief of the Academic Affairs Department of Neusoft served on the judge panel on invitation.     Co-sponsored by the General Labor Union of Dalian and Higher Education Working Committee under Dalian Municipal Committee, the First Class Teaching Competition of Young Teachers of Dalian was sited at Dalian University of Technology on Nov. 21. The 24 contestants came from 14 colleges and universities, divivided into the group of science and technology and that of economics, management, literature and law. Hu Tao from Dalian University of Technology and Zheng Yan from Liaoning Normal University emerged out of their groups and were crowned with the Medal of May the First of Dalian. Wang Xiaoqi from Dalian University and five other competitors harvested the first prize. Wang Hong from Dalian Neusoft Institute of Information and five other teachers came second with Zhang Qian from Liaoning Normal University awarded the prize of merit flanked by nine other questers.     In aborative preparation for the contest, the Department of Teaching Affairs and the Labor Union of the institute jointly penned an elaborate scenario of selection. The preparatory drive on the school level was initiated before the summer break with the related literature issued. In August the departments concerned recommended their outstanding teachers to engage in the class teaching competition on the school level with Wang Hong standing out. Prior to the contest, Wang had had the courseware and teaching plan well prepared and maneuvered, exhibiting the unique charm of Neusoft and was applauded by all judges unanimously.     Staged on a biennial basis to construct a platform for the young college teachers to prefect themselves, the competition aims to meet the requirements put forward by the 17th NPC to build high quality teaching faculty.
