George Fox University (US) Visited DNUI
Release time:2015-12-15

Professor Brent Wilson, Dean of the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems in George Fox University of the United States visited DNUI from June 29 to July 3, doing a research on the "2 + 2" joint training mode of undergraduate program and "3 + 1 + 1" postgraduate program. Wilson said that DNUI had a strategic location, a beautiful environment, a rigorous style of study, with a number of reasonably structured professional teachers and high quality students.

On June 30, Professor Brent Wilson made a special report on his research "Easy Distributed Grid Architecture for Research" (EDGAR) in the fully packed A2-330 of the school building. At the meeting, Professor Brent Wilson introduced about EDGAR in simple terms, and noted that the method provided students and researchers an efficient and simple way for the super grid calculation. Reportedly, the method has been adopted by dozens of schools in the United States.

On July 1, Professor Brent Wilson visited the Department of Computer Science and Technology in DNUI. He presented in detail some basic information about George Fox and its department settings. In addition, he made a further discussion with some of DNUI’s professional teachers on the "2 + 2" joint training mode of undergraduate program and curriculum docking. He pointed out that the initiative was the driving force for the students to learn and teacher-student interaction allowed students to generate more sense of participation and to improve their learning efficiency.

On July 2, Professor Brent Wilson and the Department of Scientific Research and Graduate made a discussion on the "3 + 1 + 1" graduate training mode. In connection with the problem that the majority of engineering students in universities could not practice their oral English and lacked proficiency in speaking and reading, Wilson thought if necessary to for the “+1” English training program before entering college. He also gave some professional advice on the domestic "+1" Curriculum by DNUI’s scientific research and Graduate department.

We believe that through joint efforts, more students will be able to realize their dream of studying abroad and cultivate more outstanding graduates.
