The 1st DNUI Russian Culture Week Finished Successfully

  On the afternoon of April 24th, the First DNUI Russian Culture Week finished successfully. The artists from St.  Petersburg,Russia, and leaders from DNUI including Liu Hui,Director of Academic Affairs Department,and Yang Lu, Dean of School of International Education, were all present the conference.  

    In the closing ceremony, Yang Lu, Dean of School of International Education, delivered a speech. She said this activity not only enriched the Russian culture atmosphere of our campus, but also strengthened the relationship between two countries through this Chinese and Russian culture collision, which consequently promoted the cultural and artistic communication of two sides.   Amid the warm applause, eight Russian artists stepped to the platform and six outstanding works created by them were displayed in front of the audience, depicting the bell building, the trees and stones of Neusoft Campus, etc., showing the continuous inspiration and excellent painting skills of Russian artists and reflecting the vivid Neusoft campus life. The Russian artists would devote these works to DNUI and Yang Lu, Dean of School of International Education, accepted these gifts and took photos with them together.   Tim, as the delegate of Russian artists, gave the speech in the ceremony and he said: “Higher education is founded on the basis of tradition and history, without which everything would be meaningless. During the period when visiting Neusoft, I could always recall my college life. In the world, only when you treat the persons around you sincerely, can they reward their respect. It is respect that creates love among people and love is just the origin for artists to create works. ” Moreover, the student delegates also gave a retrospect and shared the excellent moments in this Russian Culture Week.   Liu Hui,Director of Academic Affairs Department, gave a concluding remarks. She pointed out that this Culture Week was the Practical Project of Russian major students and it was also an exploration of DNUI practical teaching and innovation. She also wished that China and Russia could build a bridge of culture and friendship.   The closing ceremony concluded with the beautiful song of Katyusha, which aroused the present teachers and students to sing together. This Russian Culture Week lasted for five days in total, including the concert on Monday, the Russian Cultural Experiencing activities on Tuesday, Cultural Knowledge Contest on Wednesday, and Russian Artists’ Campus Painting Activities on Thursday and Friday. This Culture Week provided the faculty and students with a big rich cultural dinner.
