In recent days, the Educational Department of Liaoning Province announced the list of winners in the 2023 "SFLEP Cup-National College Foreign Language Teaching Competition" in Liaoning Province. Lu Tianrong, lecturer of the Department of Public English in School of Foreign Languages won the first prize in the group of comprehensive courses. Zhang Chunyan won the third prize in the group of audio-visual and oral courses.

As the earliest national foreign language teaching competition held in China, the "SFLEP Cup National College Foreign Language Teaching Competition" was founded in 2010. It ranks first in the Analysis Report on Teacher Teaching Competition of National Regular School of Higher Learning (2012-2020) released by the Chinese Higher Education Association. Aimed to use the teaching competition as an opportunity to actively build a platform for teachers to exchange ideas and explore the laws of English teaching. The Liaoning region of this competition is hosted by the Educational Department of Liaoning Province, attracting a total of 51 universities and 92 teachers from the province to participate. After strict evaluation by the judges in the second round, a total of 33 contestants have been nominated for the finals of the Liaoning region.
