On September 4, 2020, the Graduation Ceremony of 2020 Alpine-oriented Class of the School of Intelligence and Electronic Engineering was held at the Dalian R&D Center of Alpine Electronics (China) Co., Ltd. The ceremony was attended by Katsugi Kiyoshi and Ito Tsuyoshi (General Managers), Kojika Makoto (Deputy General Manager), Sun Yongqiang and Han Yunzhong (Assistant General Managers) and other representatives from Alpine, as well as Shen Hua (Dean of the School of Intelligence and Electronic Engineering), Director Liu Long and Deputy Director Ju Ernan of the Department of Electronic Information Engineering, Ren Changning (Deputy Director of the Department of Software Engineering), and Wang Zhiqiang (a lecturer of the Department of Electronic Information Engineering).
Affected by the COVID-19, we have been faced with many uncertainties. Against all odds, leaders of DNUI and Alpine managed to promote the cooperation in an orderly manner, starting the training on August 10, 2020. A total of 33 students from the School of Intelligence and Electronic Engineering and the School of Computer and Software attended the training session. At the initial stage, online training was adopted by lecturer Wang Zhiqiang. His teaching was in accordance with the requirements of Alpine, including enterprise demand analysis, system design, and coding realization. After the students returned to DNUI, the offline laboratory training method was applied in teaching. The students practiced by themselves in groups to complete the system integration and testing and finalize the project results. The training session demonstrated a blend of online and offline cultivation. At the ceremony, the students showed their practice results over the past month in groups. Leaders and guests from both DNUI and Alpine commented and commended the students’ practice results. At the same time, the company will arrange job interviews for DNUI graduates in the near future, aiming to recruit outstanding candidates.
The training session of Alpine adopts a dual-tutor system of “DNUI teachers + senior corporate engineers”. Corporate tutors are fully involved in the whole training process. Determined by Alpine, the projects include the design and development based on embedded Linux, MCU program and Android program. The project implementation plan is co-designed and determined by Wang Zhiqiang and the corporate engineers. The annual training content varies according to the enterprise needs. In all stages of project implementation, the enterprise’s development process and product quality requirements are adopted for process management and standardization. Students who have performed well during their studies and internships will be given priority in employment under the principle of mutual consent between the student and the enterprise.
Since 2010, Alpine Electronics (China) Co., Ltd. has been conducting in-depth cooperation with the School of Intelligence and Electronic Engineering in talent cultivation, course construction and project research and development. In order to give full play to our advantages of “application-oriented integration of industry and education” school-running mechanism, and to explore new approaches of win-win school-enterprise cooperation, the School of Intelligence and Electronic Engineering and Alpine Dalian R&D Center have been proactively exploring the win-win model of science-education combination, industry-education integration, and school-enterprise cooperation, promoting the cooperation and joint construction between enterprises and DNUI, and enhancing the depth and breadth of cooperation.
