On the morning of October 23, the signing ceremony of DNUI and University of South Australia MOU (Memorandum of Cooperation) & the unveiling ceremony of the International Joint Laboratory were successfully held in our DNUI.
A team of 11 people from the University of South Australia, including Professor Marie Wilson, Vice President, Ms. Gabrielle Rolan, Executive Director of the International Cooperation Department, Professor Brenton Dansie, Dean of the School of Information Technology and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Shane Dawson, Director of the Teaching Innovation Center, and some leaders from DNUI, including Professor Guo Quan, Vice President of DNUI, Professor Li Yingqiu, President of the School of Information and Business Administration, Professor Dong Yueli, Vice Dean of the Department of Software Engineering, Dong Benqing, President of Dalian Neusoft Electronic Publishing House, Rong Yidan, President of the School of International Education, and Yang Lu, Development Consultant attended the ceremony.
At the signing ceremony, Vice President Guo Quan gave a welcome speech on behalf of DNUI. Vice President Guo Quan said that the cooperation between our university and the University of South Australia began in 2010. The two universities have many similarities in university-running orientation and discipline structure. In the past, the two universities had a good cooperation foundation in the field of double-degree programs and exchanges of teachers and students, etc., I hope that the signing of the MOU, the establishment of the international joint laboratory and the connection of the software project "3+1" double degree program will become a milestone in the cooperation and development of the two universities, further promoting in-depth cooperation in the field of talent training, scientific research and teacher-student exchanges, etc.
Marie Wilson, Vice President of the University of South Australia, said that DNUI is very distinctive in terms of innovation and entrepreneurship education and the combination of industry and education. The University of South Australia is also a young entrepreneurial university. The cooperation between the University of South Australia and DNUI in this joint international laboratory will provide a more international and forward-looking education and research platform for both teachers and students, and promote the future cooperation between the two parties to a higher level.
At the end of the ceremony, Vice President Guo Quan and Vice President Marie Wilson signed the MOU of the two universities and unveiled the International Joint Laboratory for Teaching Innovation and Wisdom Education.
In the afternoon, Professor Brenton Dansie, President of the School of Information Technology and Mathematical Sciences of the University of South Australia, gave a keynote lecture to the teachers and students of the School of Software Engineering of DNUI. He focused on the future development of the industry and the important role of information technology in the future. The students discussed in English with the professors, and they all said that they have benefited a lot. In the ensuing talks, Professor Brenton Dansie and the software engineering major of DNUI reached a preliminary consensus on the cooperation of the “3+1” double degree program, and conducted in-depth and detailed discussions on the joint training mode, curriculum system and student management.
