In early October, the 18th All Japan Higher Vocational School Programming Contest was held in Okayama Prefecture, Tsuyama City of Japan. Two teams of Neusoft II respectively won the Special Award (the highest award presented to overseas entrants) in the project and competition team in the contest. Our students, Ma Ke and Liu Hao composed one team and Wang Haoming, Chen Jili and Zou Yuxiao composed the other one. Their achievements fully show our students’ excellent ability to innovate and remarkable practical skills. 64 colleges participated in the contest. After the contest, invited by Japan’s Toshiba, participating students and teachers visited the ancient cultural capital Kyoto and Japan’s well-known enterprises—Kobe Steel, Asahi Beer and Toshiba headquarters. The senior leaders of Toshiba had made it clear that it would continue to sponsor our institute to participate the contest in the next year.
The two teams instructed respectively by Mr. Teng Yingyan and Mr. Liu Zhenyu (teachers from the Department of Computer Science and Technology of Neusoft II) displayed our students’ excellent programming abilities. The project of our project team “I am flying” is: 1. to collect the information about arm movements by a sensor fixed on the arm; 2. to send the information to PC through a Blue Tooth module; 3. to control the flight movement of a 3D model of a bird by a PC control procedure. The creative work helps children realize their dream of experiencing flying through computer. A lot of audiences came to enjoy the experience given by the work and felt the unique happiness brought by the Information Age.
